For over 50 years, the MVM AG For quality, innovation, and genuine craftsmanship. With over 140 employees and six locations in Emmen, Zug, Zurich, Sursee, Stans and Meggen MVM combines tradition with modern entrepreneurship through thousands of successfully completed projects.
But MVM's success cannot be measured by numbers alone. It is the result of a clear philosophy: developing people, taking responsibility, and executing every task as if it were their own project.
From craft business to corporate group
When Maltech von Moos AG was founded in 1974, probably no one would have thought that it would one day become a group of companies that provides high-quality products throughout Central Switzerland. Painting work, Plastering, Facade construction, Concrete cosmetics, Naturofloor, seamless surfaces and Monument preservation stands.
The rebranding to MVM AG in 2001 marked the beginning of a new chapter. This was followed by the establishment of locations in Zug, Zurich, Sursee, Stans, and most recently, Meggen. Throughout this period, one thing remained constant: the commitment to delivering quality and building long-term relationships with customers and employees.
People at the center
Behind every successful project are people. Many employees completed their apprenticeships at MVM and today, as project managers, specialists, or executives, shape the future of the company.
This development is no coincidence: The company culture is based on trust, personal responsibility, short decision-making processes, and the conviction that people grow when given responsibility. With the MVM Academy, targeted training programs, and mentoring, MVM supports its employees far beyond their technical expertise.
Innovation born of conviction
Whether it's facade construction in Lucerne, concrete cosmetics, seamless surfaces, or demanding work in historic preservation, MVM combines traditional craftsmanship with modern materials and innovative techniques. With vision into the future
For co-owner/board member Sascha Ziswiler, the future of MVM begins not with figures or market share, but with people. He is convinced that a company can only be sustainably successful if employees develop their strengths, take on responsibility, and identify with the company.
His vision is an MVM that impresses with quality, a passion for innovation, and reliability, while remaining a place where trust, mutual respect, and personal growth are fostered. Therefore, the company's further development means not only realizing new projects or opening up new markets, but above all cultivating a corporate culture that connects people and builds long-term relationships.
MVM aims to remain a company that stands out not only for its outstanding surfaces, but above all for the people who work there every day with passion, expertise, and dedication. True success arises where quality and humanity go hand in hand.
Interview with Sascha Ziswiler from MVM AG
Co-owner and delegate of the board of directors
1. The company looks back on over 50 years of history. What makes MVM AG special today?
MVM AG combines traditional craftsmanship with modern entrepreneurship. We are no longer a typical painting or plastering company, but a partner for high-quality surfaces and comprehensive solutions. What makes us special are our employees, our corporate culture, and our commitment to continuous improvement. Despite our size, we maintain short decision-making processes and a family-like atmosphere where people are at the heart of everything we do.
2. MVM AG offers a wide range of services. What advantages and disadvantages does this offer customers?
For our customers, the greatest advantage is that they receive many services from a single source. Painting, plastering, drywall construction, facades, concrete repair, Naturofloor, sandblasting, and restoration work are all seamlessly integrated. This reduces interfaces, simplifies communication, and increases quality.
The downside is that this diversity is very demanding internally. Every department is constantly evolving. That's why we consciously invest in specialists, further training, and clear structures. Only in this way can we offer the highest quality in every area.
3. Are there also challenges with so many different business areas?
Absolutely. The biggest challenge is ensuring top quality in every area. This requires expertise, good leadership, and effective collaboration between teams. But that's precisely where our strength lies: We don't think in terms of departments, but in terms of solutions for our customers.
4. What trends are you currently observing in the field of surfaces and facades?
The demands placed on surfaces are constantly increasing. Exposed concrete, seamless systems, natural materials, and high-quality design surfaces are gaining significant importance. At the same time, sustainability, energy efficiency, and durable facade systems are playing an increasingly important role.
Another trend is digitalization. Digital planning, BIM, AI support, and modern project management will fundamentally change our industry. Those who actively shape this development will be successful in the long run.
5. How important are employees and trainees for the future of MVM AG?
They are our future. Machines and technologies can support many things, but ultimately, people make the difference. That's why we consciously invest in our employees, in leadership, professional development, and especially in our apprentices.
Those who train young people take responsibility for the future of our profession. Many of our current project managers and executives completed their apprenticeships at MVM. We are particularly proud of that.
6. What significance does the MVM Talent Academy have for the future of the company?
A very large one. MVM Talent Academy is far more than a professional development program. It is a key component of our corporate strategy. We want to continuously develop our professional expertise, leadership skills, and corporate culture, thereby also counteracting the well-known skills shortage.
Our goal is to fill as many leadership positions as possible from within our own ranks. The Academy helps us to identify talent early and provide targeted support. Because we are convinced: the best investments are investments in people.
7. What vision drives MVM AG every day?
Our vision is to be the leading group of companies for high-quality surfaces from Central Switzerland to Zurich, not only because of our size, but above all because of our quality, our innovative strength and our corporate culture.
We want to be a company that employees are proud of, customers trust at all times, and partners enjoy working with. Growth is not an end in itself for us. We want to grow sustainably, take responsibility, and create long-term value for our employees, our customers, and the next generation.
