Employee portrait: Remo Pfister

In our new section “Employee portraits” we would like to give you a glimpse behind the scenes and show you the faces behind our work. They are people who give their best every day and are there for you with words and deeds. Today Remo Pfister, who heads our finance and administration departments, introduces himself. As a trained businessman in the automotive industry, my professional life begins as a accounts receivable and accounts payable clerk in a cable assembly company. I then gain a lot of important and valuable experience thanks to several years of work as a junior accountant for a Swiss online marketplace, sole accountant of a car garage and my parallel self-employment as a freelance accountant. Corresponding further training in the financial sector rounds off my personal profile.

In March 2017, I took the opportunity given me to take on a new challenge at MVM AG in Emmen. Challenge is the right word because it is actually the order of the day. In the construction industry, as a specialist in plastering, painting, facade construction and seamless surfaces, there is an unbelievable battle for market prices in sales. The fact that these are exposed to a steady negative spiral and the building materials are experiencing relentless price increases does not, of course, make the situation any easier.

We are aware that, as the MVM Group, we always have to concentrate on the factors that can be influenced. Not only to keep operations going, but also to be an attractive employer for our 120 employees. In concrete terms, this means creating lean corporate structures and developing new innovations and creative ideas. Through a lived CIP (continuous improvement process), we are constantly optimizing our processes and procedures as part of our LOM (Lean Organization MVM). These elements enable us to meet our financial goals and meet our commitments. Intensive discussions with suppliers for better purchasing conditions and the fulfillment of the high quality requirements of our customers also challenge us every day.

We always focus on the customer! His satisfaction is the focus of our daily endeavors and, together with the safety of all employees on the construction sites, enjoys top priority. This conscious focus ensures healthy growth of the company on the one hand and secures the work and earnings of our entire workforce on the other.
